Did it involve a burning bush? Keep away from sacred cows. It might get smashed. That's all I can say about tablets.

Shirer's Rise and Fall ... wow, I read that over and over as a kid. There were some benefits to having a non-unlimited library in the house "back in the old days." Now we all niche-ify from a young age, because we can; the digital world is both a huge expansive universe and a little silo.

Of course I wouldn't turn down a tablet if someone gifted it to me. But I'd also never figure it out. I have no apps on my cell phone. I don't think I've ever willingly downloaded an app. I can't think why I'd want one. I also barely ever text. This is not "good." It's just that I'm a bellweather: when I learn to do something, you can be quite sure it's on its way out.
